Sho-Bud Cross over Steel guitar

I'm interested in a s=10 4 pedal  5 knee lever Pedal steel guitar. I have been playing for about 55 years and all I want to do now is sit around the house and play along with sound tracks.    I presently have a Sho-Bud D-10 (crossover) steel witch  I purchased last year. I sent it off and had another floor pedal and another knee lever added along with a 750 George L pick up added to the E-9th neck. It is a very heavy steel and sounds great. I even thought of removing all of the bottom neck…See More

Tell us a little about your background
My Mom and Dad bought me a National lap steel whenever I was still in grade school. We had no teacher and learned from a phonograph record, I later purchased a Gibson electra harp while in high school. Didn't care much having to sit sideways in front of the steel as the pedals were on the side. Later I bought the ZB steel right off of the stage in Phoenix,AZ from Tom Brumley. I kept it for several years and played with several local bands. I retired from my railroad job after 40 years. and as a part of my retirement decided to retire from playing music. (big mistake) In 2012 I attended the funeral of the wife of a band member I used to play with. one of the other band members also attended the funeral. I hadn't seen her for 15 years. she had a Sho=Bud steel she would like to sell me. I bought it sight unseen for $850.00 and when I finalyl had it shipped to Ft Worth from Kansas I opened it up. It was a Sho=Bud Crossover steel. It has a lever that can switch the pedals from the E-9th neck to the C-6th neck. I don't know if I have a unique steel. It sounds teriffic and is holding its tuning very good. I do not have any idea what the value would be on this steel but it is in perfert condition. It has not been played for several years and sat in the case in the closet for several years. It has six pedals and 2 knee levers. I have been playing around on it for several weeks. It is a very heavy steel. So I played for 50 years then retired and haven;t played for 15 years. Now I would like to start playing again. We have a church band and I would Like to get polished up on my playing ability and be able to play in the church band. I would like to trade this steel to some interested person for a single neck E-9th Nashville tuning with 3 floor pedals and 5 knee levers. That's about all of the history of my music adventures. I played with a lot of bands and enjoyed everybit of it. Any offers or comments are certainally welcomed, I would be interested in what the value of this crossover is. I could put it on E-Bay and hopefully get enough to purchase a single neck. I don;t need the C6th neck, I can play most of the C6th licks on the E9th neck. Any offers??? or helpful suggestions. I just don;t think I could carry that heavy Sho-Bud to church every Sunday.

Thanks, Jim.  Sorry to be so slow in replying to your message.   I remember the Palace, although I never went inside.   I was usually on my way to play in the jam session at Rinky Tink's Ice Cream parlor.   I did that for about 7 years until they quit having jams there.  Now what used to be Rinky Tink's is a dog supply store.   I've played guitar for a long time, but started learning pedal steel about a year ago.  I'm taking lessons from Steve Lamb over in Ft. Worth.  My wife bought me a used BMI E9 with three pedals and three knee levers for Christmas year before last.   I'm far from a competent player, but I've taken it to several jams and no one has suggested I not bring it back, so I took that as a positive sign.   I'd love to meet you, hear you play and just get to know you sometime.   Thanks for your warm welcome.
