From TSGN Staff
Hello Slim. Thanks for the warm welcome to TSGN. I'm enjoying your photos while I'm typing. Great looking ShoBud you've got there! Fine on the upcoming birthday. You look as if life has been very good to you! Congratulations!
Slim, I was away from steel as a player for 50 years or so. ha I've had this Mullen HWP D-10, 9/5 for about three years and been trying to make up for lost time. My last guitar was a Fender 400, s/n 134, way back in the '50's. I played it until the mid ''60's before selling it. Needless to say, E9 w/Emmons set up was a real awakening when I got my Mullen. Slim, I was like (and still am) a kid with a new toy. Sitting down behind that Mullen and "discovering" chords, licks, and effects that i have heard for years and wondered how in the world guys were getting them, made me spend countless hours in dreamland almost every day for the last three years or so. I can't get enough of it! Got a long way to go...and not much time to get there.
Been playing string bass since grammar school...Dixieland Jazz, Bluegrass, Country, Big Band and what not through the years. I notice you play a few instruments including the violin/fiddle. Tell me a little about your music interests including steel.
Judging by your photos, you also love dogs. We've got three German Shepherds in the family. They all love steel, thank goodness. There's always at least one dog leg or tail sticking under my Pack-a-Seat while I'm practicing.
You may have a career in aviation. I don't, but really love airplanes...especially the old reciprocating war era birds. P-51, 38, F4U, and B-25 are a few of my favorites,
Slim, you and yours have a great Thanksgiving...and be sure to entertain everyone with a little PSG for the Holidays!

Thanks Slim,
You're now showing up as my friend. Thanks a whole lot, and Keep up the good work.

Hi Slim,
Gosh, I sure am sorry for not getting back to you. You are right on us old Gray beards having to stick together. Again, I don't know how I missed you. Maybe it's because I'm just now starting to find my way around this site of Hank's.
I'm really enjoying listening to your music. You've still got it my friend!
Gosh, I'd add you as my friend, but I'm still trying to figure out how I do that. I know it's here somewhere, other than for clicking on invites, I'm pretty much lost on this site!:)
Keep up the great work! You haven't lost a thing!
Your old friend,
Don, NJ
