I moved to Nashville in 1989 where I went to work on the Country Music USA Show at Nashvilles once famed Opryland USA as the steel player on that show. Cast members included Ken Mellons & Chely Wright. I went on to play steel for Alan Jackson and then Tim McGraw for two years Marty Haggard for a year as well as my buddy BB Watson for a year also followed by stints with Jeff Carson, Leroy Van Dyke and others. Went to work with Ty England for three years and also filled in with Dale Watson, Lucky Tubb and others. About two years ago I got an independent record deal and released my first self penned CD "Alcohol Of Fame" that included the great Mike Johnson on steel and my buddy Daryle Singletary helping me out on a song called "Mirrors Don't Lie" by singing the last line. I've been in the studio in Nashville and my next self penned CD is set for release on 1.3.2011 again with Mike Johnson on steel and Larry Franklin on fiddle.
Other things I've done related to steel guitar are:
I started the www.steelseat.com
company about 8 years ago and at one time had seven dealers in seven different states before I decided to sell only direct. I sonl the company to the late Thom Beaman from Apple Valley California who sold it to the present owner Joe Naylor. I enjoyed all the folks I met while running this fine company and got out while I still had all of my fingers intact! Still to this day they are the best built sturdiest seats on the market hands down.
Since my CD took off I have toured Australia in 2008 as well as France last year in 2009 where I received a standing ovation from over 10,000 fans for my set!
