Tunings

I use several tunings for my resos (lap style) and am curious as to what others use. For my 6-string resos I use the following (all tunings from low to high).:Open G (low bass G) DGDGBD  (occasionally Dobro G, GBDGBD)G6    EGDGBDGMaj7  DGDF#BDG7   DGDFBDOpen D DADF#ADDsus4  DADGAD  (popular for Celtic guitar)My 8-string (a work in progress) is tuned as follows:EGDGBDAC.  A G6 add9 sus4 .  Similar to an E9 pedal steel tuning in that thetop 2 strings, A and C, are tuned lower than my 3rd string…See More

Started playing steel over 30 years ago, but packed it away for the last 25 . Started playing again, along with 6 and 8 string dobros (primary instrument). My steel is a 1980 Emmons S12 ext. E9 push/pull guitar.
