Wright 4 neck Steel restoration

The Wright 4 neck steel on my page is now under complete restoration.

It has been my Honor to listen to My Father play this Steel when I was young and then watch him go on to play two Sho-Bud double neck steels one a Pro II, and the other a Baldwin model double neck. The Wright has sit for many years in not the best environment. So I have begun to disassemble the Wright completely. I am just about 3/4 of way through this process and cleaning, and phase one of polishing out the…

Why block posts?

I just posted on a blog about Washburn guitars and after pressing the "submit" button I got a screen that said... "your message needs to be approved before posting. This is rather weird in my opinion because the post is open for replies.

Why this happened is beyond me and rather strange. If a post is made and open for replies, why not really leave it open for replies instead of moderating it?

No need to block it off and filter replies before posting.

Caution in buying Washburn Guitars

Two years ago I purchased a Washburn 12 string guitar. Paid more than I probably should have but wanted to get a nice one. One of the main selling points on it was that it had a limited lifetime Warranty on it. Four weeks ago I found that the bridge had come loose. So I sent it to the Washburn Dealer in Chicago. Last week they wrote back and said that it would not be covered because they claimed that I had not maintained a constant 40% humidity every day. WHAT? There was no where in…

Push Pull changer vs All Pull changer (with pictures)

Yesterday there was a question in the chat room about push pull guitars and where that great sound comes from. Well there are some websites explaining this to a "T". One of these websites was set up by the late John Fabian of "Carter" steel guitars.

On that website you can find good information about the difference between All Pull steel guitars and Push Pull guitars. Below is a picture of the Push Pull Changer.…

Public apology

Guys, I am really baffled right now because it seems that I have said something 2 nights ago that offended someone on this forum. I can't for the love of God remember what I've said that could've offended this member.

I apologized to this member through email and PM several times even though I don't know what I said that might have offended him and I don't even know if it "was" me in the first place. There were 4 members online that night and I asked 2 of them if I "did" say…

contructive note for all

I just wanted to comment on Vince Gill and the guys jamming some club on a monday night. Together Again - what a great old song. They are all fine musicians, of coarse. The steel player on that song (i do not know his name) is very talented. He knows his instrument inside and out. However its sometimes 'what you don't play  - not what you do play that "makes it". If he had played it a bit more 'on the simpler side' it would have been more powerful. OK - i'm done. Enough from the tues…

I would like to thank a f ellow steel plaryer. I went to the postoffice yesterday and a package was there. I opened it and to my surprise there was a George L pickup and goodrich match box in the package.

What surprise! I have a sick daughter that lives with me and getting a steel or anything i need is very hard with all the medical bills. I had been wanting onebut could not afford it.  I just cant believe all the nice steel players I have met on here. If I ever get in the shape to…
